Details
Long shard necklace features multi-faceted silver shards which have been meticulously hand carved from jewellers wax and cast in silver.
Each concave section dips inwards to form a paper-like crease in its centre, and light is softly reflected from within. Emulating stiff pleated fabric, shards of reflective glass and folded paper, the Pleated Collection has an art deco like quality with a contemporary edge.
Wear this long silver necklace with simple colours for a contemporary look, or layer it up with others for something more dressy. Total length is 32” (81cm) and each shard measures approx. 25mm long by 5mm wide. They are joined by a media weight hayseed chain, which is finished with a small hallmarked tag.

Why Alice Barnes?
Alice's work is influenced by the cuts, folds and repetition used in paper art. Her desire is to create jewellery that is elegant with a touch of art deco sophistication.
To achieve the sharp folds and weighty quality found in Alice's work she hand carves each original element in wax before casting it in recycled Silver.
