Our Magical Windows
We love collaborating with talented creatives, and over the last few months, we have worked with paper-artist Sam Pierpoint to design our new store windows.
Sam is a gifted artist and all-around paper genius whose work we have admired for a long time. So we were thrilled to work together to help tell our story in recycled paper, some of which are made of seaweed!
We wanted the windows to show what is at the core of EC One: our passion for making beautiful, hand-crafted jewellery that doesn't negatively affect people or the planet.
Sam designed and created this window to show how foundational 'craft' is to what we do here at EC One.
We have 25 years of experience and skill in crafting beautiful, long-lasting pieces in our onsite workshop. Our workshop is a space for us to practice, preserve and improve the craft of goldsmithing. This window allows us to bring the workbenches from the back of the store to the front!
Part of why it was so inspiring to work with an artist like Sam Pierpoint on this project was the parallels between our two crafts. There is a material difference, of course. Still, the care, consideration and techniques have similarities that really add to the final windows.
We can't get over these tiny perfect tools! It is so hard to believe they are paper.
Highlights our attitude towards how we work and the positive impact we strive to make.
Our business is proud to be a B Corp and a member of the global movement, 1% for the Planet. We donate 1% of our annual turnover to environmental organisations as part of this initiative.
We currently support The Felix Trust and The Hackney Food Bank to help Londoners living in food poverty.
We were also proud to support the work of the Peace Diamonds Restoration Initiative, where abandoned artisanal mining pits in Sierra Leone are turned back into arable land for farming or reforestation.
Our window reflects our aim to help people and communities in London and beyond through our London business.
We couldn't be happier with the little EC One paper worlds inside our cabinets. Working with Sam and seeing the final results was an absolute joy. Please come to the shop and see them in person; they will not disappoint!
