what we offer

ring resizing

We can resize most engagement rings and wedding bands, ensuring a comfortable fit while carefully preserving the integrity of the original design.

Repairs

Jewellery shouldn’t be thrown away. We restore pieces so they can be worn again, including chain, clasp, ring, and stone repairs, polishing, and cleaning.

Remodelling

Jewellery shouldn’t be thrown away. We restore pieces so they can be worn again, including chain, clasp, ring, and stone repairs, polishing, and cleaning.

Stone resetting

We can reset existing diamonds or gemstones into new designs, creating a piece that feels entirely personal while giving new life to your original jewellery.

Transform jewellery you no longer wear

Many clients come to us with jewellery that has sentimental value but isn’t something they wear anymore. We can melt down existing gold, reuse gemstones, and redesign the piece into something that suits your style today.

This might be:

  • Turning an inherited ring into a new engagement ring
  • Transforming multiple pieces into one new design
  • Resetting diamonds into a modern setting

The history of the jewellery stays - but the design becomes something you’ll love wearing again.

Carefully restoring jewellery

Over time jewellery naturally experiences wear. Our jewellers can repair and restore many types of damage including:

  • Worn claws
  • Loose stones
  • Broken rings
  • Damaged settings
  • Worn chains

All repairs are carried out in our London workshop by experienced goldsmiths and stone setters.

FAQ

If you can't find an answer to your questions please contact us
1

Can I re‑use my inherited gold for jewellery remodelling?

Yes - we love incorporating inherited or sentimental gold into new jewellery designs. Bring any pieces you’re considering to your appointment and we’ll talk through your ideas. Some items, such as unhallmarked gold or chains with many solder seams, may not be suitable for melting down due to unstable alloys. If that’s the case, we’ll explain why and guide you towards the best options for your remodel.

2

How long does jewellery remodelling take?

Most jewellery remodelling projects take around 6–8 weeks once the design has been agreed. If you have a specific date in mind - an anniversary, birthday, or proposal - let us know. Our London workshop will always try to accommodate your timeframe.

3

How much does it cost to remodel jewellery?

The cost of jewellery remodelling varies depending on the design, the complexity of the work, and whether additional gemstones or metal are required. At your first appointment, bring your sentimental pieces and any inspiration. Having a rough budget in mind is helpful. We’ll follow up with an initial quote, and once you’re happy to proceed, we can source any additional gemstones and refine the design together.

4

Can I use my own loose gemstone in a new design?

We love helping clients re‑imagine inherited jewellery. However, we generally don’t work with loose gemstones or diamonds purchased elsewhere. If you’re unsure whether your stone is suitable, bring it along and we can advise during your consultation.

5

Do you resize rings not made by EC One?

Yes - we can resize most gold and platinum rings, even if they weren’t originally made by us. Suitability depends on the ring’s style and how many sizes it needs to move. Drop into our Exmouth Market shop and we’ll assess your ring and provide a quote.

6

How do I get a quote for jewellery repairs or remodelling?

The best way to receive an accurate quote is to book an appointment so we can examine your jewellery in person. You can click here to make an appointment - we’d love to meet you and discuss what you’d like to create.
