Conflict Free Diamonds

A 'conflict diamond' is a diamond mined in a war zone and used to fuel illegal activities against legitimate governments. Conflict diamonds have been linked to human rights abuses in Sierra Leone, Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Every diamond that EC One sells is warranted by our suppliers to be 'free from conflict'. This includes all the designers we show as well as our in-house workshop.

As a company we have been committed to supplying conflict-free stones since the Kimberly Process was launched in 2002.We are also looking at using recycled and 'fair trade' gold in our designs.

EC ONE POLICY ON CONFLICT FREE DIAMONDS:

"EC One wholeheartedly endorses every legitimate initiative to eradicate the disgraceful trade in conflict diamonds. We guarantee that our diamonds are 'conflict-free' by purchasing our diamonds from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolution, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by our diamond supplier. We recognise that our customers need the assurance that the diamond they are buying a symbol of their love for another person is legitimate, genuine, conflict free gem."
