Vivid turquoise & aqua hues, heavy metallics and jewellery that does more than finish an outfit…. it makes it! These are our buyers Paris picks!

Fuelled on Orangina, copious amounts of cheese and gorgeous views of Paris, our buyers hit Paris Fashion Week to bring us the best new season jewellery from the hottest designers. They even spotted a certain famous Kate on the streets of Paris!

Visiting Paris bi-annually to bring the EC One customer the best France has to offer, our buyers flitted between shows and were dazzled by designers’ SS13 collections, falling in serious lust with lots of new designer treasures!

All the way from Hawaii, Rue Belle brought her warm and friendly “Aloha” to Paris & into our boutiques. Designer Belle has an exquisite eye for detail, with designs that completely capture that relaxed beach vibe. Our buyers couldn’t resist the allure of the pink Opal stones, mixed with rose Quartz, and rainbows of purple shades, including Tanzanite and Amethyst. Rue Belle’s pieces are ideal for gifts or the perfect pick-me-up when day-dreaming of warm sands and clear blue skies.

Alexis Bittar is definitely our King of Costume with some of our AW12 pieces already sold out! To tantalize you, we have some cheeky pictures of our buyers SS13 picks, with Bittar’s shockingly neon Lucite getting us all reved up for the vibrant floral designs of Ederm’s SS13 Catwalk creations. They also chose intricate gold lace-work jewellery in which are captured a range of stones in pastel hues from aquas, lilacs and mint greens, to create investment pieces and fabulous jewellery box staples. Iridescent silver Lucite also plays a big role in our SS13 picks, combined with gold detailing to give a hyper-lux edge.

With Statement Necklaces like these you can see why this designer brand caught our buyer’s eyes. The elaborate electric stitching and Swarovski crystals give an impact to these necklaces that will be key to making your outfit for SS13. We can’t wait to get them on the shelves!

So Paris is all over till next year, but in the meantime you can shop some of the designers from Paris current collections such as Alexis Bittar, Nicholas King, Fiona Paxton, Helena Rohner and Rue Belle in our boutiques and online.

We won, we won!

EC One is pleased as punch to be able to announce that at last night’s UK Jewellery Awards, we won the prize for Boutique retailer of the year!

The “Boutique” category is new to this year’s awards, and we had been hoping that it would be a perfect fit. EC One was up against 7 other companies for this award which was judged by an independent panel. Some of the things the judges were looking for were excellent customer service,  promotion of new talent, and in particular innovative buying and stocking of designers .

Jos and  Alison represented us at the prestigious awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane.  As the Oscars of the jewellery world, the audience included over 600 key figures from the jewellery industry including model Lisa Snowdon, who presented the awards. It was a really fun night for everyone who attended, though Jos was keen to stress that this wasn’t just about himself and Alison, but reflected the hard work of the entire EC One team over the year. How lovely.

We are genuinely thrilled to have received this. We love that we get to promote unique, exciting new designs, and push forward with exciting new ideas, and it’s an honour to be recognised by our colleagues for doing just that. In the face of a high street that often seems homogenized and uninspiring, we’d love to think that we are leading the way for retailers to champion new design and new talent!

We are really happy and excited to yet again be shortlisted for the U.K Jewellery Awards! This year, hosts Retail Jeweller have created a wonderful new category ‘Boutique Retailer of the Year’ which is a perfect fit for EC One (we think so anyway!). Focusing on innovative buying, the judges are looking for specialist retailers that focus on niche brands and independant designers rather than larger branded jewellery; whilst bringing an innovative and fresh approach to jewellery buying for customers.

Here at EC One, we have seen many new designers go onto great things (Alex Monroe anyone?) and get really excited when we are able to work with new and more established designers that we know our customers will love. There continues to be so many great designers making their own collections in studio with a real passion for creativity, jewellery design and fashion – who will be the next big thing!

Alison Meets Nicholas King at Fashion Week

This year our buying director Alison has been asked to take part in judging the ‘New Designer of the Year’ category which has some great finalists. She is keeping her cards close to her chest so we will have to wait and see who wins! As usual, the Awards are being held in a glitzy ceremony at Grosvenor House on the 14th July so we will have to wait until then to see how we have done too, fingers crossed and wish us luck!
