London’s Fashion Week 2012 is calling and the capitals best dressed fashionistas, stylists, bloggers and muses were in attendance. Residing in the sumptuous surroundings of Somerset House London played host to SS13 collections from designers Henry Holland, Peter Pilotto, and Jonathan Saunders to name just a few. But what attracted our buyers to the alluring fashion light was all the gorgeous jewellery on offer for SS13.

Our buyers have picked SS13’s key trends and matched them to some of the fantastic jewellery at EC One.

At Peter Pilotto’s show models marched in urban warrior Aztec like prints, these bold hues and prints should be accentuated though jewellery with statement colour necklaces, rich cabochon stones and layering of woven bracelets.

As polka dots ruled 2012 stripes will be king of 2013, Jonathan Saunders gave stripes a 60’s Bowie vibe with space age metallic fabric. Silver and gunmetal jewellery will come in to its own with this trend with chains and architectural jewellery being key to accentuate the bold highlighter thick stripes.

Henry Holland gave pastel shades a more psychedelic edge with tie dye, whilst others mixed Polly Pocketesque pastels with neon lace and intricate sheer overlays. Our buyers are looking to introduce more beautiful Oyster Quartz pieces from Lola Rose and sparkly bangles from Nick King to give pastels that extra punch for SS13.

Fiona Paxton is a fail safe when it comes to statement jewellery with her designs installing power and confidence in a woman’s daily wardrobe, our head buyer Alison is often photographed wearing Paxton’s jewellery.

Pushing new boundaries with her designs SS13 sees Paxton incorporate filigree designs with iridescent beads, metallic hues creating jewellery for the urban warrior and beach-white coral or an exotic vibe. SS13 sees Paxton using rose gold which is a key jewellery trend for next season.

Joanna Cave is one of our most popular designers, in her SS13 collection Cave plays with combining different coloured threads and tassels to add that dash of colour to her designs.

Our buyers were spoilt for choice with Cave’s SS13 collection and have selected silver, yellow gold and rose gold colour ways mixed with pale blues, florescent pinks and pretty purple stitching and tassels to add an instant colour injection to your wardrobe. They shall also be introducing some of Cave’s rings.

Rock Vault is a show case for some of the jewellery industries most exciting jewellery designers, showcasing the work of industry leaders such as Imogen Belfield, Hillier and Hannah Martin. 12 designers were selected with each designer given an ounce of Palladium to work with. None of the designers had worked with Palladium before and learnt along the way, some even like Imogen formed a whole new collection around their palladium exploration.

What caught our buyers eyes in the rock vault were the artisan fashion creations of jeweller Tomasz Donocik. The CSM graduate creates jewellery that matches his eccentric Rock ‘n’ Roll personality, combining swarvoski crystals and leather to create his signature wrap bracelets. Tomasz’s work is too good to wait another season for so our boutiques will be stocking Tomasz’s work from November!

There is certainly plenty of jewellery to be excited about after our buyers London Fashion Week visit, next stop Paris!
