From the beginning...

The EC One story starts in 1997. England was in a new era of politics, music and fashion and our bit of London – the postcode of EC1 – was a great place to be. We opened our first store, complete with open plan workshop, on Exmouth Market in Clerkenwell; within weeks the street was bustling with bespoke tailors, delicatessens, quirky bars and restaurants.

The shop was a success and after two years we decided to open a second store, this time in Notting Hill, west London. The Notting Hill branch is a gorgeous, welcoming shop on Ledbury Road, where we hold regular events celebrating our designers, to which all our customer's are welcome.

Here at EC One we aim to set ourselves apart from the mainstream jewellery shops found on every high street, in every town. Our position as an independent jewellery shop has won us 'Best for Fashion' at the UK Jewellery Awards two years running – a great achievement which has put EC One firmly on the map within the UK jewellery and fashion industries.

We source new designers and new collections at the annual London, Paris and New York jewellery shows, striving to bring our customers the future seasons' trends, always on the lookout for that something special. Over the years, EC One has discovered great jewellery talents, from Stephen Webster and Niessing to Alex Monroe and Alexis Bittar.

Our Clerkenwell workshop allows us to make bespoke pieces, or re-model customers' jewellery to suit their wishes, while the development of our online store means that shopping at EC One is easier than ever for those jewellery lovers outside of London. With a gift-wrapping service and worldwide postage, a little bit of EC One can be yours, wherever you are.
